Creating new pages

Any contribution should be provable, Ray Peat and other bioenergetic sources prefered, other sources like PubMed welcome too. Everything should be digestible and hopeful.

Vandalism is pointless, all edits wait for our approval.

If you spot an error or would like to contribute, you may submit an edit through the visual editor. If your work is sourced here and you would like it removed, please DM me on 𝕏 Twitter @WikiPeatiaOrg. If we all contribute, this may one day be the library of Alexandria.

Style rules

Keep prose short, cite primary sources. Prefer quality over volume.

Don't add an "Introduction" heading. Write the opening paragraph directly under the infobox, before the first ==heading==. That text becomes the page's summary in search results and hover previews; wrapping it in its own heading breaks that.

State claims, then cite. Use the Quote template for Peat's own wording. Use text-fragment links and audio timestamps where the source supports it.

How to cite

Every factual claim needs a source. Use a real <ref> tag, not a bracket pseudo-citation like [Author, Title, Year]. Screenshot for VE/code edit

If you cite the same source twice on one page, name the ref once and reuse it:

Every page with citations needs a References section at the bottom, or the footnotes won't show:

Ray Peat's own writing, newsletters, and interviews are the best source for Peat-specific claims. Peer-reviewed studies are good supporting evidence. Never use Wikipedia, Grokipedia, or a bare social media post as the sole source for a factual claim.

Citing an interview or a book on the wiki? Use the dedicated templates instead of a plain link, they generate a working play/read link automatically.

Audiocite

For interview audio, use Ray Peat, "[{{{url}}} Interview]" with the doc and chunk IDs from a search.wikipeatia.org play URL:

For one of the on-wiki Ray Peat book PDFs (Reading Room), use Pdf cite needs file= or url= with the PDF's page index, not the printed page number:

This opens the file's flipbook reader straight to that page.

How to use quotes

For Peat's or other writers, use the Template:Quote

template instead of plain quotation marks:

Put the citation in the template's source= field rather than tacking a separate <ref> onto it. If a live web page contains the exact quoted text, link straight to it with a copy to highlight/text-fragment link so readers land on the highlighted passage.

Adding YouTube videos

Embed a video with the <youtube> tag and either the video ID or the full URL:

Optional parameters:

start= jumps to a timestamp in seconds, useful for citing a specific moment in an interview instead of linking the whole video.

Recognition

Good contributions deserve a shout-out. If you land a well-sourced page or a strong fix, you are welcome to cite yourself or add 𝕏/Twitter signature, feel free to post it yourself, tag @WikiPeatiaOrg on 𝕏/Twitter and show it off. This isn't a site where credit has to stay quiet.
