Pesticides reduce crop pests, with residue tradeoffs for people eating the treated food. Organophosphates are one major class with well-documented toxicity mechanisms.

Peat's practical response

[edit]

Asked about protecting against organophosphate exposure specifically, Peat didn't propose avoidance alone; he named nutrients that support the body's own defenses:[1]

I would have a good supply of progesterone, calcium (milk, cheese), sugar (cokes, orange juice, candy).

Practice

[edit]

Wash produce; prefer less-sprayed sources when budget allows, without treating "organic" as a synonym for "safe" or a substitute for good metabolic support. See Glyphosate, Liver.
